HOMEMADE PEANUT BUTTER

HOMEMADE PEANUT BUTTER

Nothing can be easier than making a jar of homemade peanut butter.  Surprisingly, I only recently began making my own peanut butter from scratch. Once I did, I was totally hooked!!! It has infinitely more flavor, is preservative free and way cheaper than any store bought peanut butter I’ve had; it just tastes so much … NUTTIER!!!  I have also made almond butter using the same method.  I have noticed that homemade peanut butter has slightly coarse texture than the commercially made one.

Making peanut butter at home is incredibly easy and can be made in less than 10 minutes. There are so many ways to eat peanut butter but my favorite way is to eat spoonful of this yummy goodness directly from the jar!!!

Preparation Time    :  7 - 10 mins

Serves/makes            :  100 gms (approx)
Ingredients:
·         1 cup roasted peanuts
·         2 tbsp honey/sugar
·         2 tbsp vegetable/peanut oil (Add more oil if the peanut butter is too thick)
·         Pinch of salt

Method:

Blend in roasted peanuts, sugar and salt to a smooth powder.  Continue to blend till the peanut mixture start releasing oil.

Add oil and blend it till desired consistency is achieved.

Store in clean, dry container and refrigerate.

Peanut butter stays good for 2 weeks.
