ROTI CHURMA LADOO | ROTI LADOO

Roti Churma Ladoo

Churma is a popular Rajasthani and Haryanvi delicacy.  Churma is generally served with dal baati.  Traditionally, it is prepared with wheat flour baatis and loads of ghee and jaggery.  It is usually a time consuming and tedious process to make churma.

Here is a quick fix recipe for churma ladoos using wheat rotis.  This recipe might bring back childhood memories for many when our mothers used to make these yummy ladoos from leftover rotis.

Preparation Time    :  5 minutes
Cooking Time           :   2 to 3 minutes
Serves                         :   7 to 8 ladoos

Ingredients:
6 Wheat Rotis
4tbsp Jaggery or Gud
2 Cardamoms
2tsp Ghee
Chopped Almonds

Method:

Tear the rotis into small pieces and blend it coarsely along with cardamoms.

Heat the ghee and add chopped almonds and sauté for a minute.

Add jaggery and stir it till it melts.

Add the roti churma; mix well and cook on low flame for a minute.

Allow the mixture to cool down slightly.

Roll the mixture between palms to make ladoos. Tastes best at room temperature.

Store these ladoos in a dry and airtight container for 2 to 3 days at room temperature and relish them.
